2008 State Party Scenic Ride with FastFred

If you have enjoyed photos of the various sights of Western Carolina posted at http://www.fastfreds.com/archived_trips.htm

The ride will begin early to assure a safe return prior to the bike games. The plan to to begin gathering at the gate at 9:30AM Saturday morning with a rider meeting at 9:45AM. The departure time is expected to be 10:00AM.

This years state party ride will be mild however there will be more curves than those found on the coastal plan. All riders participants should be sober and have a motorcycle license rather than just a permit. Participants will see historic and scenic sights plus a few scenic roads all found in Western South Carolina.

At the final scenic and historic site riders will be given the option to return for the bike games or take an extended tour of the Western Carolinas. The optional section will require greater skill to navigate mountain roads. However you will also enjoy more scenic views and visit a few special places. You are encouraged to bring a helmet for the optional section in the event of a traffic stop or to help prevent a traffic stop. Helmet fines in NC are $100 for operators but just $10 for passengers if you are found guilty in court. The choice to wear a helmet in NC is yours alone to make.
