Well it appears our biker friends in Beaufort have their work cut out. Senator Ceips is not sounding very biker friendly in the article below. Her unveiled support of an all rider helmet law should be enough to reorganize the bikers of Beaufort County and refocus those who forgot about biker rights.
To discuss this and other relevant biker rights issues consider joining a new state wide discussion list focused squarely on biker rights issues without the drama or spam of other lists.

SC Gets High Ranking For Highway Safety Laws
Tracey Amick, Live 5 News
A new report released on Monday by the Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety gives South Carolina a "Green Light" ranking on highway safety laws.
Senator Catherine Ceips of Beaufort is on the Senate Transportation Committe, and says she's glad to see where we rank when it comes to our laws on our roads.
"We're one of 17 states with a good rating and I think that's due to the primary enforcement of the seatbelt law." Ceips said.
She's right, that was the number one law taken into account. But there are 3 other laws they say we still need, like a passenger restriction on our existing graduated drivers license.
Another law the group says we need here in South Carolina, is tighetning the laws on who needs to ride in a booster seat raising it from children under 6 years old up to age 8.
Ceips says our rule focuses more on size than age, but she's not against making changes.
And the third law the group says we need is All-Rider Motorcycle Helmet law.
That's an issue that has been brought up and knocked down many times, but Ceips says just because it's hard doesn't mean it can't happen.
"You know how difficult it was to get primary enforcement for seatbelt in South Carolina and we were successful so all these things can come back up," Ceips said.
The Senate Transportation Committee meets later this week, and Sen. Ceips says she always welcomes suggestions from South Carolinians.
